Step into history with an immersive augmented reality experience at Wooldridge Square, Austin's iconic gathering place, and the Texas Capitol. This immersive interpretive plan was designed by Kendra Dobson of 3240 Entertainment.
This exhibit is here to remind visitors that history happens all around us, and is not relegated to sacred or government buildings.
The Texas legislature denied Washington permission to speak at the Capitol building in 1911 after lynchings of African Americans increased in Texas and throughout the country. Mayor A.P. Wooldridge, however, invited Washington to speak at a common park called Wooldridge Square.
